The United Nations Principle for Older Persons of Self-fulfilment states that ‘Older persons should be able to pursue opportunities for the full development of their potential and have access to the educational, cultural, spiritual and recreational resources of society.
Luisne Garden
Designed by Mark Grehan, award-winning, freelance landscape designer, the garden promotes health and wellbeing for all ages and is aligned with the United Nations Principles for Older Persons.
Community Centre
The Community Centre at McAuley place is a place where people can gather for social events, education classes, or recreational activities. It's comprised of several different spaces, suitable for different uses, all of which are available for hire.
Tea Rooms
The Convent Tea Rooms is a very quaint tea rooms in a homely setting with everything served on fine china, that offers a tasty breakfast, lunch, or simple snack. Gluten-free bread and cakes are available, and sandwiches, scones, and food platters can be taken away.We also serve Afternoon Tea, daily which is exquisite.
Arts and Culture Centre
A former Nuns’ Chapel, the inside walls, ceilings and stained glass windows have been restored and the original organ returned to its former glory. An atmospheric venue with great acoustics, hosts Tai Chi, yoga, meditation, concerts, exhibitions, weddings plus many more activities.
